Bicyclomycin is a polar metabolite first isolated from Streptomyces sapporonensis in 1972. The selective Gram negative profile of bicyclomycin is rare among Streptomyces metabolites.
Bicyclomycin is soluble in ethanol, methanol, DMF and DMSO.
